“A friend lost her mother to COVID on March 30 th . In the almost 200 days since then my world has become very small, centered on my neighborhood, my apartment, my porch. This series of chairs is set on 7 porches on my block. I’ve lived on the same street in Somerville for over 30 years. I know most of my neighbors even if I now sometimes don’t recognize them behind their masks. These images are portraits of my neighbors and friends. They are meant to convey the tremendous sense of loss felt when a once occupied chair on the porch is now left empty.”
